A Film Festival in a Historical Setting
At a former Carthusian monastery, the winners will be declared and the filmmakers as well as experts from other areas will have the possibility to discuss their film within workshops with the audience and the festival organizers, in a relaxed and open atmosphere.
During this onsite event also all exhibitions provided in the “Mauerbach Charterhouse” on that day can be visited free of charge and there is also no entry fee for the film festival.
As the location is quite close to Vienna, it is possible to use the public transport system from Vienna to a near bus station, where it is just a few minutes walk to the monastery:
From “Hütteldorf, Wien” you can take bus no. 450 to “Busbahnhof, Mauerbach”. From there, it is approximately 500 metres to the “Kartäuserkloster, 3001 Mauerbach”.

Price for the bus one way is currently € 2.20 if you already have a ticket for Vienna, or € 4.60 incl. a ticket for Vienna, but will be verified shortly before the event in 2026 again. For the discursive exchange with a splendid possibility to gain an impression of the submissions, we specifically invite producers and directors to participate in this point of the festival on this day in person!
Additionally, a medley of the selected films will be screened live at our onsite event.

In our festival ed. 2023 and 2024 production teams and directors did manage to appear personally at our festival and we plan to welcome even more film enthusiasts for discussions in our upcoming edition in 2026.
